ARE YOU A GOAL SETTER OR A GOAL GETTER?

by

We are geared up to enter into, not only the new year 2020 rather a new decade, the first thing that we plan is the GOALS.

We have been making goals, fulfilling a few and breaking more than that.

So let’s talk about GETTING THINGS DONE this year.

Many successful people have shared their stories of success and failures through their biographies or autobiographies, and the extract that comes out is a simple 4 STEP FORMULA as follows: –

  1. PEN DOWN YOUR GOALS

A lot of people just flow through their life as it goes with no goals or ambitions. There is no harm in living that way but at some point in time, it might make you feel like you lack purpose in the world.

Some people have goals, but they aren’t specific- or maybe even realistic. They are just wishes and dreams. Again there is nothing wrong with being a dreamer, if you want to achieve your dreams, setting goals is necessary.

Few people have clear goals with actionable steps, written down on paper. And doing this simple step can speak the difference between a goal setter and a goal-getter.

It’s good to have a sharp mind which can remember everything, but at the same time it’s like your best employee whom you are overburdening with work because it is productive. So obviously it will want to resign one day.

Give a helping hand to your subconscious mind. Pen down your goals on a paper, a diary, a journal or a vision board which ever works best for you.

  • SET DEADLINES FOR YOUR GOALS

The next important step is to set deadlines and meet them. Deadlines are always effective. Sticking to your deadlines makes your tasks manageable no matter how complex they are. Deadlines can make large projects easier-to-handle. So firstly, break down a complex task into several small tasks and then set deadlines for every small task. When you break up projects into a series of smaller tasks, it makes them easier to complete. You do not have to wait until the last minute to get your work done.

  • FIND AN ACCOUNTABILTY PARTNER

Goal-oriented people are self-motivated, but what happens when you wake up one morning at 5.00 am and don’t feel like bothered to get out of bed? Apart from your own self-motivational tool inside you, is there someone to shout at you to get up and get going?

This is where being held accountable can help you in your life. We all know that holding yourself accountable is a tough job and you can come up with an array of excuses when you’ve only got yourself to answer to.

Accountability partners are there to help you get to where you want to go. You’ll find that you’ll put more effort into your goals than ever before because someone is holding you accountable.

  • CELEBRATE EACH ACHIEVEMENT

There is nothing more that we enjoy doing than shouting about how successful we are, without being big-headed.  This gives you a boost because you are showing how many goals you’ve achieved.

Marking our achievements has many benefits, fixing them in your mind encourages you to go for your goals, even when it’s easier not to. Proving your achievements builds confidence.

Here are some great ways to celebrate your success:

  • Write an achievement diary.
  • Treat yourself.
  • Have a night out.
  • Talk about your achievements.

If you follow this simple 4 step formula, you will say at the end of the year-

 I DID IT

rather saying

I WISH I DID IT
